By our reception of Holy Eucharist, the Bread of Life, Jesus' Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity nourishes us. The Holy Eucharist is the source and summit of our faith.
The sacrament of Holy Eucharist is offered to practicing Catholics in the state of grace at all daily and Sunday liturgies of SS. Peter & Paul, St. Mary's of Burnside, St. Patrick's Chapel and Sacred Heart. To prepare for worthy reception of Holy Eucharist a fast of one hour from food and drink is required. Bodily demeanor (gestures, clothing, etc. ) ought to convey the respect, solemnity, and joy of this moment when Christ becomes our guest.
First Holy Eucharist, also know as First Holy Communion, for children is offered throught the Faith Formation program. The sacrament is first received when children are in the second grade; however, older children are also prepared for it's reception. Adults are prepared throught the RCIA classes.
